Making busy suburban life a little more country.

Home, food, family, chickens, and finding simple ways to make everyday life feel a little more grounded.

A little of what we’ve been doing, cooking, and figuring out lately.

A Little More Country

We don’t live on a sprawling homestead. We live a busy suburban life—with kids, sports, work, a backyard full of chickens, and a never-ending list of things to do.
But somewhere along the way, we realized we didn’t need to move to the middle of nowhere to build more of the life we want.

Patch of Pine is about bringing a little more country into the life we already have—cooking from scratch, growing what we can (if we can), raising chickens, spending more time outside, making our home feel good, and slowing down when life allows it.

It’s not about doing everything the old-fashioned way. It’s about being a little more connected to the things that make a home and a life feel like ours.

Growing Where We’re Planted

I used to think the life we wanted was somewhere else. More land. More quiet. More room to slow down. Then I realized we don’t have to leave everything behind to build a life that feels more like us.
